This self-initiated risograph print was designed as part of my most recent creative practice module. My practice centres around the juncture between traditional analog techniques and digital innovations and for this exercise I was keen to learn more about the distinctive textures created by the risoprint process. I was delighted to be selected to participate in the Halftone Print Fair’s 2017 event. My submission was a self-portrait inspired by my love of the cosmos flower a.k.a. ”the cherry blossom of Autumn” and my morning ritual of strong black coffee. The event ran from the 2nd-19th of November 2017 and was held in The Library Project in Temple Bar, Dublin. Edition of 50. A4 two-colour risograph printed by Risotto Studio in Glasgow on 120 gsm, off-white Munken Paper from Arctic Paper. Available to purchase on request.
